Most t-shirts are built for nobody in particular. We built one for men who care how they look.
I started True Modern because I was tired of the compromise. Either a shirt was too boxy, too thin, or priced like a luxury item with none of the quality to back it up.
I spent months researching fabric specs, grading systems, and collar construction before sending a single email to a factory. When I finally did, I didn't ask "how much does a shirt cost?" — I sent a detailed technical spec: 60/40 cotton-poly compact jersey, 180–200 GSM, enzyme washed, pre-shrunk, with a foundation block sized for athletic builds.
That level of specificity is what separates True Modern from the dozens of other "premium basics" brands out there. We don't start with a blank and put a logo on it. We start with what the shirt should feel like, look like, and do — and work backward from there.
We're building this in public. Follow the process on TikTok, and reach out anytime.
